Amongst the quackery it states that it can store enough energy to power all the appliances in your house for ten seconds in the event of a power dip. It's completely fake in case you hadn't already guessed.

Inside the plug there's a large capacitor with one lead clipped off! Maybe it's a special modification for the UK 240V supply with an under-rated 110V capacitor. The bulk of the nonsensical circuitry is for making the two inverse parallel LEDs light up. (dimly!) Even with the capacitor in circuit the plug would have made no difference to your electricity bill, even allowing for it's shot-in-the-dark "power factor correction".

The nonsensical circuit that uses 15 ohm resistors as links in place of the original LED power supply circuitry. Note the capacitor with one lead clipped off making it useless. There was a place for a MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) that would have been useful for clamping transients, but it's not there. Just as well, since these components require a thermal fuse to protect against hot failure and there isn't a place for one.

Standard 20mm glass fuses are only rated to break up to about 35A. If they are used for mains applications they will often fail in an uncontrolled manner as the current continues to flow through the vaporised metal from the blown fuse wire. This particular one exploded completely and the resultant electrical arc caused localised shorting of other fuse-holders too. Use CERAMIC fuses with a sand filling for mains voltage.
